Exit Art is a celebration of the talents and creativity of the next generation of artists and designers, presenting the very best contemporary art and design from Northern Territory Year 12 students.
NTSDE is represented by three of our 2020 students from OLSH Wadeye; Brody Karui, Mary Pupuli-Longmair and Jonah Nemarluk whose photographic portraits are stylistically creative and expressive of place and culture.
This years’ exhibition is especially strong and student work is of a high standard technically across many mediums. Over half of the 50 or so works are portraits though many other works also reflect on identity and relationships.
All the artworks are conceptually mature and suggest many hours of research, ideation and experimentation.
NTSDE have also used Exit Art as a resource for our current Year 12 Art students.
Students have visited to inspire their own work or to write about the exhibition as their Inquiry assessment task.
This annual exhibition is presented by the Museum and Art Gallery Northern Territory in partnership with the Northern Territory Department of Education.
It runs from 13th March to 13th June 2021.
